The project

Classic Malay steps in conversation with modern rhythm.

Presented by DiDance at NERO Event Space, PJPAC, Kelopak brings classic Malay steps into conversation with modern rhythm. Ensemble movement, expressive costumes and percussion share the stage.

Surprise Ventures acted as producer for the production.

A Kelopak performer in yellow reaches upward as petals fall beneath a spotlight — A moment of stillness under the spotlight.

A Kelopak dancer performs alongside a drummer playing a large wooden drum — Movement and percussion in dialogue.
